Get in the zone

OnSide Youth Zones are amazing youth centres open seven days a week packed with activities, and facilities like music studios, podcast booths, dance studios, state of the art gyms, climbing walls, and more. They are run by trained youth workers who are there to give you the support you need.

You can now find Youth Zones all over the country – if you’re aged between 8-18 (or up to 25 if you have additional needs) then you can join your local Youth Zone for just £5 membership a year, and pay just 50p each time you visit.

Don’t have a Youth Zone in your area?

Here are some brilliant organisations that can provide support to young people.

  • YoungMinds – a mental health charity for children, young people, and their parents/carers. They also offer a crisis messenger service: text YM to 85258.
  • Action for Children – supports children, young people and families across England with emotional and practical care.
  • Barnados – provides emotional support and information for young people, young people leaving care, and young carers.
  • Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) – information and support for anyone struggling and needing to talk – call their helpline 0800 585858 or use their webchat
  • The Mix – offers essential support for under 25s.
  • Mencap – supports people with learning disabilities through advocacy, personalised services, and community engagement.
  • Kooth – a safe, anonymous online community and counselling for young people
  • The Proud Trust – supporting LGBTQ+ young people through groups, mentoring and peer support.

  • Childline – free, private, and confidential service where children and young people can talk about anything. Call their helpline on 0800 1111.
  • Samaritans – open 24/7 for people to talk about worries or troubles they’re experiencing. Call their helpline on 116123.
