Local businesses give generously

2nd June 2012 by OnSide 2 min

OnSide North West was delighted to welcome more than 130 dedicated local supporters and businesses to its annual Warren Hegg Golf Classic tournament on Tuesday 15th May.

The teams, who braved somewhat changeable spring weather, from hail to sunshine, at Mere Golf Club, turned out in force to support the work of OnSide in building Youth Zones across the North West.

Jerry Glover, chief executive of OnSide North West said, “I would like to pass on my thanks to everyone involved in making the day possible. The money raised by the Warren Hegg Golf Classic is vital in helping us to realise the OnSide vision of a state-of-the-art facility for young people in every town or city across the region . Without the support of those who attended the day, or generously donated their time or prizes, our work would simply not be possible.”

Players were not only competing for glory, but the chance to win a BMW for a hole in one courtesy of Bluebell BMW – one of many prizes donated by OnSide’s patrons and supporters locally.

The day’s competition was won by the Royal Bank of Scotland team, with a winning score of 84 Stableford points, and the evening finished with a dinner and auction. In total, the day raised more than £17,000 for the charity.

A selection of shots from the day can be viewed below. All photography from the event can be viewed and downloaded free, or prints ordered and purchased here. All photography is copyright OnSide and courtesy of Lee Bevan and Carl Silver at Leapfrog, whom OnSide would like to thank for their support and hard work.
