London ambassadors talk of their OnSide journey

21st February 2017 by Onside Youth Zones 1 min

Members of our Ambassadors For London (AFL) group were put through their paces during an Apprentice-style interview process at City Hall.

The group, which meets weekly, serve as OnSide’s figureheads in the capital, representing the charity at events by promoting our Youth Zones.

They are heavily involved with various events in the capital which included OnSide’s London showcase at Guildhall in November. The group consists of young people from across London and includes members of the Young People’s Development Groups from our current live Youth Zone projects in Barking and Dagenham, Barnet and Croydon.

During the interviews, the young people were asked about how they believe they have contributed to AFL meetings, what they have done and how they think they’ve developed by being a part of OnSide. The process was designed to develop young people’s interview skills and to catch up on their development with OnSide and was led by Partnership Development and Community Engagement manager Mark Blundell and some of the older AFL members.
