Take a Virtual TourMembers of OnSide’s Ambassadors for London group took part in the Lord Mayor’s Show at the weekend.
It was the first official event the charity has taken part in since last week’s fantastic and exciting announcement that we will become a partner of the Lord Mayor’s Appeal for the next three years.
OnSide shared the float with the two other charity partners, the Samaritans and Place2Be, along the three-mile route through the City. Thousands lined the streets to watch the annual Show which is now over 800 years old.
The Lord Mayor’s Appeal float was one of the leading lights of the whole parade, placed at number nine in the procession out of over 140. There was a wonderful atmosphere throughout the day as OnSide kicked off this historic partnership, which will see three charities jointly benefit from the Appeal for the very first time.
OnSide Youth Zones Chief Executive Kathryn Morley said: “It was absolutely fantastic to be part of the Lord Mayor’s Show and seeing our float pass Mansion House while being broadcast live on the BBC was an incredibly proud moment for everybody associated with the charity. OnSide’s partnership with the Lord Mayor’s Appeal is going to be an significant boost for our work in London, helping to take us to the next level as we develop and open our first Youth Zones in the capital.”
