Charity Bike Ride Raises £4,500

19th September 2013 by OnSide 1 min

Over 170 plucky cyclists braved autumn showers on Sunday 15 September 2013 to tackle The Ellipse, one of the region’s premier charity bike rides.  Bruntwood organised the event for The Bruntwood Charity which supports causes including OnSide and The Factory Youth Zone.  The fifth annual charity race saw cyclists tackle one of three different routes, all of which began and ended within the beautiful grounds of Bruntwood’s historic Booths Park in Knutsford.

Peter Crowther of Bruntwood said: “The fifth annual Ellipse race was a phenomenal success and we had more people than ever register for the event. We’re delighted to have raised such a huge amount of money for local charities – not only from the sponsorship, but also from monies raised by the raffle, stalls and funfair games.  We’d like to say a massive thank you to all those who turned out to take part in the ride, or to support friends and family. It was a fantastic day in which we were all able to enjoy the stunning Cheshire countryside, whilst doing our bit for good causes.”

The Ellipse was fully funded by Bruntwood and all marshalling was organised by a team of willing volunteers, in order to ensure that every penny raised will go straight to where it’s needed most.
