Take a Virtual TourWirral Youth Zone has signed up its 6,000th member!
Just seven months ago, on Saturday 8th April The Hive opened its doors and welcomed young people from across Wirral, with a mission to provide ‘Somewhere to go, something to do and someone to talk to’ – and everybody is so proud the Youth Zone has now exceeded its membership target of recruiting 3000 young people in its first year.
Commenting on The Hive’s success to-date, Stuart Barnes, Chief Executive said,
“We are very proud to have exceeded our membership target so quickly as it shows we are delivering exactly what young people in the borough want and need. This success wouldn’t have been possible if it weren’t for the continued hard work of The Hive team, the ongoing support of our Patrons, the input of our young members and, of course our ever growing army of volunteers, who have clocked up an amazing 5955 hours of volunteering so far -worth over £50,000 in equivalent salary.”
The Hive’s outreach team are now focused on helping even more young people in Wirral to benefit from the Youth Zone’s facilities and they are also hoping to attract additional support from the regional business community by bringing new patrons on board.
At present The Hive has support from the following Patrons towards running costs: Cammell Laird, John Syvret, The Bibby Family (Peter, Geoffrey and Lady Christine Bibby), Urenco, Bagnall & Morris Waste Services, The Billington Group, Boulting Group, Andrew Collinge Hairdressing, Park Group, West Wallasey Car & Van Hire, The Contact Company, Peel Land & Property, Hill Dickinson Solicitors, Progress To Excellence, Selwyn-Lloyd Charitable Trust, Anne, Duchess of Westminster’s Charity, Russell Taylor Group, The Barton Family, Bill Tavener, Hugh & Cathy Frost, and Wirral Borough Council.
