Take a Virtual TourWirral based business Bagnall and Morris Waste Services is the latest company to join The Hive Youth Zone’s growing family of Founder Patrons as they joined the team alongside Youth Zone Ambassador, John Barnes at the building site earlier this week.
Ensuring the young people of Wirral have a brighter future, B&M Waste Services is putting its full support behind the Youth Zone, not only by donating a valuable revenue contribution, but by spreading the word about the Youth Zone across the borough with dedicated branding about the new facility on its vehicles.
The Youth Zone will offer a multitude of activities and services and this amazing support will help raise the aspirations, improve the health and well-being and enhance the prospects of an anticipated membership of over 3,000 young people across Wirral.
The project is progressing well and as per the delivery programme. The superstructure is complete and main roof installed. Internal walls are being constructed and the 1st fix M&E installation is progressing very well. In the next 2 weeks the windows will start to be installed and the external cladding completed. The project is on programme to be completed in February 2017.
Over and above the financial support that B&M Waste Services is providing, its staff are also looking forward to volunteering at the centre and raising awareness through friends and family.
B&M Waste is a long-established business that is now in its second generation of family ownership. Father, Ken Curtis, has been the driving force behind the company for many years and now the day to day business is run by four brothers – David, Graham, Neil and Paul – alongside an experienced senior management team. The company offers businesses across the region recycling-led total waste management services.
Their strong Wirral heritage and sense of community cohesion were key factors in B&M Waste Services’ decision to become the new shirt sponsors of Tranmere Rovers FC and supporting the Hive was a natural extension to this community involvement.
Ken Curtis, Director of B&M Waste Services said: “One of the most saddening effects of the recent recession has been the increase of young people not in employment, education or training (NEETS). As a company we are dedicated to providing work experience schemes for local schools and believe these schemes enhance motivational levels for our own staff. Our staff are keen to volunteer once the Youth Zone is open and to support Wirral’s young people to ensure they reach their full potential. We are proud to be working with such a great cause.”
The Hive’s General Manager Stuart Barnes said: “We are absolutely delighted to have the support of B&M Waste Services. I am particularly excited to be working with the B&M team and believe the partnership can really flourish with staff members keen to volunteer with us once we open. Their experience and commitment can only aid our young peoples’ development.”
Revenue support has also been pledged by numerous further local businesses. Click here for a full list.
Becoming a Founder Patron of The Hive is a chance for the local businesses and philanthropists to make the difference to the lives of young people and the future of a prospering region. Their support and endorsement of the project will lead the way to encourage others to invest in the future of the city’s young people.
