What inspired you to join OnSide?

I wanted to work for a charity I could believe in.  I remember reading the staff profiles on the website and thinking that they looked like a great team.  And they are – they’re hard-working, ambitious and the nicest, most considerate people.

What’s been a memorable moment you’ve had working with the team?

I volunteered to assemble Christmas food parcels at Warrington Youth Zone for young members and their families.  It was brilliant to see the contributions from the local people and businesses, but also quite poignant to see the quantity of parcels that were needed.

What was the first Youth Zone you visited and what did you think?

Bolton Lads & Girls Club.  The building had a vibe of its own and the young people were buzzing with energy, totally at home.  It was inspiring.  Unlike anything I’d experienced before.

What would be your go-to Youth Zone room and why?

As an adult it would be anything tech-related – the production room is always a standout – so versatile, with lots of opportunities to get creative.  But if I were a young person, it would be the climbing wall every time!
